Saturday's Lincoln Beach - Important Launch Info
#1
There has been a change in launching spot for this Saturdays float.

We are now launching from the first springs area which is a ways south east from where we normally have been launching from the far west springs.

DIRECTIONS (This way requires 4WD or better) : Go past launch ramp area on paved road.(Do not turn into the marina) Turn in at painted posts on fenceline, just past cattle guard. On dirt road, go downhill to the split and turn right, then left as soon as you hit the next road. Several yards back to the west, there is a steep turn/drop down through some willows and through some water (shallow, with firm bottom). Follow to the left and out to the first spring area. Park where convenient and find a suitable launch site. Be prepared for lots of other vehicles and people. Maybe a good idea to park a bit to the east of the spring and launch away from the congestion area. It is a longer and shallower launch, but less likely to run afoul of wild casters.

For powered pontooners: Those of you who have powered pontoons and lower profile vehicles. You can launch from the Lincoln Beach marina. (Do not try to launch from teh inside part of the marina at the boat ramp, this is only 6inches to 1 foot deep) Enter into the marina lot and on the South side of the boat marina there is a dirt road that drives all the way out to the mouth of the marina. Head down this road to the end and you can launch your powered pontoons there. There is a gradual 10 foot grade to carry your pontoon down but it is an easy short walk and not too steep. This area quickly drops to 3 feet deep then to 4 feet deep about 20 feet from the shore.
