Fishermen rescued at Utah Lake day

[font "Arial Black"][red][size 3] I just heard on Channel 2 news, that 2 fishermen were just rescued at Utah Lake this afternoon. The boat had capsized, and the men were hanging on to the boat some how. I sure hope it isn't any of our members.[/size][/red][/font]

Men Pulled from Utah Lake After Boat Capsizes

Nov 26, 2004 4:21 pm US/Mountain

Two men, believed to be brothers, were in a boat on Utah Lake when it capsized Friday.

Officers say their boat overturned somehow and the men had to be rescued.

Officers say both men are suffering from hypothermia. One man is in fair condition, but the other had to be resuscitated and was taken by Air Med to the hospital.

The men were in the water for some time and sheriff officials say they probably wouldn’t have lasted much longer.

“It’s very cold, probably in the low 30’s so the conditions are quite serious,” said Sgt. Spencer Cannon, Utah County Sheriffs Department.

Sgt. Cannon said someone saw the men in the lake and called 911.

Sounds like it was a very close call for those 2! I hope both of them recover OK.

The story I heard on KSL was that they were duck hunters but either way, they a very lucky to be alive. They said they had to preform CPR on one of the guys but I think it made it, talk about a close call.

I heard that neither one of them was in very good shape,and that one had a heart attack from the cold water.They must have had life jackets to have survived.Glad they were rescued in time.
