FLW Outdoors has announced that registration for the upcoming 2005 Texas Tournament Trail season will be open to the general public beginning Jan. 6. Priority TTT registration for Ranger Boat owners will commence Jan. 4 at 8 a.m. Central time. For Champion, Stratos and Skeeter owners, nontransferable, nonrefundable deposits will be accepted to hold spots for all 2005 tournaments beginning Jan. 5 at 8 a.m. Central time.

For other entries, nontransferable, nonrefundable deposits will be accepted to hold spots for tournaments beginning 8 a.m. Central Time, Jan. 6. Anglers who enter all four qualifying tournaments by Jan. 6 will be given priority over anglers who enter less than four events. In 2005, anglers will be able to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Texas Tournament Trail while competing for $1 million over five events, including the no-entry-fee TTT Championship in Conroe, Texas.

Anglers will be in a position to win $65,000 in the Pro Division and $34,000 in the Co-angler Division in each of the four qualifying events. At the 2005 TTT Championship, the stakes will jump to $70,000 and $40,000, respectively.

2005 TTT season at a glance

Feb. 19-20 – Lake Amistad – Del Rio, Texas

April 2-3 – Richland Chambers Reservoir – Corsicana, Texas

April 30-May 1 – Lake Texoma – Denison, Texas

May 21-22 – Toledo Bend Reservoir – Many, La.

October 15-16 – TTT Championship – Lake Conroe – Conroe, Texas

Rules, participating requirements and additional registration information

• Participation is open only to tournament members of FLW Outdoors who are 16 years of age or older. Any person entering a tournament under the age of majority must also have the signature of their parent or legal guardian in the provided space on the entry form.

• All contestants must have in their possession a valid fishing license.

• Each qualifying tournament will be limited to 400 contestants (200 boats).

• Entries received after a tournament has filled will be placed on a waiting list. Those placed on the waiting list and not accepted into the tournament will receive a full refund after the tournament. A completed entry form and the complete entry fee must be received no later than the published entry/balance deadline for each tournament. Confirmed entries are contingent upon balance being paid by the balance deadline date.

• Late entries will be accepted except for tournaments with a full field. Late entries must be accompanied by a $25 nonrefundable service charge and submitted no later than 7 p.m. local time the day before the tournament.

• There will be no official practice period or off-limits period prior to the pre-tournament meeting. No contestant may be on tournament waters for the purpose of locating fish or potential fishing waters after the start of the pre-tournament meeting except during tournament hours.

• Two hundred points will be awarded to the winner of each qualifying tournament, 199 to second, 198 to third, etc. All anglers who receive weight credit will receive points.

• The top 50 pros and co-anglers from the point standings after the four qualifying tournaments (ties resolved by total weight) will be invited to the year-end championship. If anyone in the top 50 is unable to attend the year-end championship, the next person in the point standings will be invited.

• Entry fees for each of the four qualifying events are $350 for the Pro Division and $100 for the Co-angler Division. The 2005 TTT Championship is an entry-free event.

Tournament format for 2005 qualifying events

Day 1 – 200 professionals and 200 co-anglers compete for 20 spots in the final round.

Day 2 – Top 20 professionals and top 20 co-anglers continue competition. Winners determined by heaviest accumulated weight from days one and two.

Tournament format for 2005 TTT Championship

Day 1 – Top 50 professionals and top 50 co-anglers from the year-end point standings (ties resolved by total weight for the season) compete for two days. Winners will be determined by heaviest accumulated weight over the course of the two-day event.

Contingency awards

Ranger Cup – Ranger awards $5,000 to the highest-finishing Ranger Cup participant in the Pro Division at every TTT qualifying event. Garmin Grand Award – Garmin awards the winning pro $1,000 at every TTT event if the pro’s boat is equipped with only Garmin electronics and at least one unit is a Fishfinder 240, Fishfinder 250 or 250C, Fishfinder 320C, GPSMAP 178 or 178C, GPSMAP 188 or 188C or any Garmin chartplotter that is interfaced with the GSD 20 for sonar. Snickers Big Bass Award – Snickers awards $1,000 to the pro or co-angler who catches the heaviest bass during the TTT Championship.

Castrol High Performance Co-angler Award – The highest-finishing co-angler wearing a Castrol shirt at the TTT Championship receives a $500 Wal-Mart gift card and $500 worth of Castrol products.
