Causey 01-15, Strawberry 01-17
#1
It was a rough weekend for the Cowboy. We started the weekend off at Causey. We fished all over the lake in 30- 55 feet of water. We tried green, pink, yellow ice flies and finkees. We (Group of 2) caught 1 12" splake right off the bat straight across the lake from the dam in that little cove. After that we only got 2 more bites. Not many fish on the finder. We caught the fish at 7:45. We left about noon. Good ice, no slush(on top) about 11'' thick.

After watching my Minnesota Vikings get beaten by the Eagles I though for sure I could go up to Strawberry and have some fun. I though wrong. We fished in Mud Creek Bay. We were on the ice at 7:30. We were using a white curl tail jig that I have caught close to 50 cutts on. We had very few bits in only 12 feet on water. Then at 9:30 the other member of our group pulled out a 20" cutt and that was all the action until we left at 10:00. Had to go to work. Worst weekend in years. I only got skunked once in 2004, now I have been skunked twice in 2005! Heading up to Lost Creek on Saturday, hopefully my fortunes have changed.

It looks like your probles is in your jig selection. I don't see anywhere in your post that you ever pulled out a green booger and tied it to your line![Wink] DKS.
