Porcupine Ice & Access?

Does anyone out there have any current incof on the conditions of the Ice and Access to Porcupine? I want to take a trip up there on friday.

we went up there on monday and some guy had buried his truck,left it in the road and went fishing. so we had to turn around, spent all morning trying to turn around. we went to mantua, that sucked!
any way snow was deep and hard to get through. i think i would take a snowmobile. i herd the ice was about 5-6''.

The kokanee fishing is supposed to be good also.

Is the road open to the bottom of the Dam?

the guy was stuck before the bottom of the dam. we had chains on and we where having trouble, i think we could have made it to the pull off going up to the top if that guy wasnt there but i dont know that its worth trying unless you dont mind digging your butt out if you get stuck. there was a guy in a jeep that seemed to be doing alright. maybe buy now there has been a few trucks that have made it and you might be ok.take chains,a tow strap, and a shouvel. im shure you would do great fishing if you could get there.
