[Smile]Earl,
I live in Orange, Tx and fish the Sabine River and the back waters of it on regular basis.I launch out of Blue Bird's or the launch by the yacht club. I fish for bass, reds and flounder using a 1/4 oz. blue/silver rattle trap or a 3/8 oz white spinner bait for the above fish. A carolina rigged watermelon red french fry works well also.
Good luck,
Bill

Earl, The brackish water backs up to the I-10 bridge and at times farther up-steam depending on the wind, tides and the river flow. Have you heard of any good bass reports near the hwy. 12 bridge area?
tight lines,
