[size 2][font "Comic sans ms"]This time I headed out to Hemenway Fishing Point with the Bass Hunter. Got there around 6:00, just in time for the sun. Loaded and launched the boat with a new toy. I scraped the SmartCast and went a little bigger and hopefully better. Picked me up an Eagle Fish Easy 320, on sale and that made the wife happy. Anyway back to the trip, the wind wasn't too bad, maybe 10 mph out of the north. Fished for a while with both anchovies and tossing lures all for not. By 9:45 the wind and waves were getting concerning, so I decided to head back to truck almost a big mistake. Moved out of the cove I was in and head directly into the wind. I had the trolling motor up on 5 speed and barely making any headway. Then had many waves crash over the bow and it got a little spooky there for a minute. Pucker factor 7.5. But made it back to the truck in one piece and decided to shore fish until the wind died down. Within 15 minutes I got a Striper, very skinny but it was a Striper. Unfortunately it was my first and only for the day. After the wind died down a bit I launched the boat and did some tooling around, trying out the new depth finder. That lasted about an hour, so now it's time to head for the house. NOTE TO SELF: Make sure the tackle box is secured before pulling the boat to shore!!!!!! Explanation; I had a little shelf to pull the boat up to get it on shore. Gave the boat a good tug and yep probably guessed it, my tackle box went head over heels into the water. And yes that water is very cold..............................
Take care,
