Pelican - 2/10/05
#1
Sparky and I went with a friend and his Golden to Pelican yesterday and had a very good fishing day. Started about 8:30 a.m. and quit about 3:00 p.m.. Caught lots and lots of blues and a couple of nice bass each. Used ice flys, kentofsl's forage minnow and wax worms. Thanks kentofsl, used it for only about an hr. at the end but it was very productive! [Smile] Fished right of the bottom. Fished on the west side towards the south end about 400 yds. out in 10 ft. of water. Ice looked about 6 in. thick. Very few people there. Big area of open water in the middle. Be aware/careful. Hi Fred,

Glad to hear that that I was of some help. When the trout get a little more finicky at Strawberry (towards the end of ice season, or in the heat of the summer) those forage minnows with a little sweetener are a good lure to try.

Thanks for the report Leaky. Curious as to the details of the mishap you alluded to in the other post.

Kayote,
I'll send you a pm. I don't feel comfortable talking about it on the forum with consideration of my friend. I just feel it's important to remind folks of the general problem.[unsure]
