I have only been Ice fishing for a few years now but I have both my 6 and 3 years have the best look on there face when we get on the ice and the fish start giving up right away.
About 2 weeks ago I went with my wife and both boys and my 6 year old stepped in a hole up to his hip that he was playing over. If I didn't have a small heater and my hut it would have been the end of the day before we even got started. But as luck would have it my wife brought the first two perch on the ice while I was drying out clothes with the heater. Then we fished for a few more hours. Didn't limit but did well enough that Teresa said I could go back that Tuesday.
That Tuesday took 3 year old Andrew and we sat in the hut catching a few. We picked out 2 trout that morning and then started pulling in Perch. I was setting them all till about 10:30 and he suddenly looked over at my and said "dad, i got one" WOW i reached for his pole and a quick tug proved it. I told him to reel it up and the
on his face was priceless. I am hoping to be back in SLC soon enough that I can get on Rockport at least once more before the thaw. [angelic]
