Fishing in orange county CA
#1
I know this is the utah board but lets face it this is the only place that gets looked at regularly. Does anyone know any good seep sea fishing charters at Dana point or somewhere else close to the disney area?

yes there is a landing in Dana point it's called dana point landing i think.... they have some good fishing.. but if your close to D-land.. dave's locker or newport landing would be better.. just go down harbor bolavard tell you get close to the end and dave's locker and newport landing is right there.. and if you want to try for some bay bass and halebut you can rent a skif at dave's locker.. or if you want some free fishing try the peir on open water side..

You can rent SOT sea kayaks at Dana Point and take yourself ocean fishing. They're picking up halibut, sand and calico bass right now.

Thanks for the reply I am planning on going march 12-16. I am just looking for a charter to take my wife and I out. I am not planning on taking any of my own gear or anything. Just wondering if anyone has used any good charters the area.

You will be just in time for the Rock Fishing which opens back up on March 1st. Daveys locker is good and if you would like, There are couple of good landing in Long Beach as well. Pierpoint Landing and Berth 55.

Take a look at the CA board. We have a sub board for boats and landings. Many of them to date have website info as well as phone #s.

Be sure to stop by and say hi on the Cali board. We encourage visiting members over there.[cool]

I have been fishing from Dana Point for 30+ years.
I’m a Utahn that got hooked on Sea Bass at a young age.
One of my favorite places to fish from is Dana Warf Sportfishing.
Their prices seem to be more reasonable than further North or South.
I have been out with them 100’s of times. The fishing will get much better
as the weather and water warms. My favorite trip is the all day trip to Catalina Island!!
But the ¾ day is plenty for most folks. If you end up down that way on a Tuesday, they have a 2 for 1 special. Here is a link to their web site. I have been out on a lot of the charter boats from LA to San Diego. If you needed any other information let me know.
Good luck and good fishing.
