Once again we had a great day at Rockport today.
We were going to hit Strawberry but the weather changed our minds. My son and I loaded up with the perch in about 1 hour fishing in only 24' of water. We were on the west side and to the South. We chose that location with some big browns in mind.
We iced a dozen or more bows in the 10" to 14" size while we were catching the perch. When we moved closer to shore for the trout, we fished in only 12' to 16' of water.
My son wanted a big Brown, so he has spent the last 3 trips looking for them and keeping away from the perch.
Well he hit the jackpot today! After several more smaller Bows, he hooked the big one. The hooked jaw male came in at just under 22". He also iced 2 more bows that were 17" and 18". Green Whatt-a-Crickets and White tube jigs tipped with wax worm did the job. I did get some pictures, but I have now idea how to post them. I hope to talk my wife into going back with me on Monday. DKS.
