Hey there Fourstrings,

Check out this website: http://www.fish4fun.com/

In the upper right hand corner you'll see the link to "tournaments"
That should do the trick. The only thing about being in Florida is that most of your tournaments are based on species that are primarily caught aboard a boat. It's a shame you're not around the carolina's or Georgia. There are plenty of pier and beach based fishing tournaments. It's awesome that you are taking such an interest in fishing at such an early age. I commend you. However, don't give up. Go to the local bait and tackle stores in your area. There might be a fresh water fishing tournament that you could attend. Saltwater is grander by far in my opinion, but you have to start somewhere. And start saving up your money. Buy yourself a boat, you'll be glad you did. A boat is more than just a hobby, it's a tool for putting Smiles on your face. It's an investment. Or, talk your parents into buying a boat. [Tongue] Make shure you study the fish you intend to catch as well. You'll never do any good in a tournament if you don't know anything about the species of fish you are targeting. That's the difference in a professional fisherman and a small time weekend warrior. A professional is knowledgable about fish, thier habbitats, migration, food, the local area and anything else. They can target a specific species, not just go out and catch what ever bites. Get yourself a subscription to Saltwater Sportsman Magazine. All kinds of good info in there. And among all else, have fun. That's what it's all about. Good luck!
