Late report from Willard
#1
Fished the West dike area, mostly on the South end from 4pm till 7pm last Sunday evening. Tried standard jigs in white and chartreuse, but nothing wanted to play.

I friend of mine said they have been really killing the Walleye out here. Maybe I don't know what I'm doing or maybe you have to fish in the dark. Maybe all this screwy weather has something to do with it.

Any suggestions?

See ya.

I know just how you feel! I've spent many years out there on "hot tips" from people on how they are putting the hurt on the eyes. I've never had much luck though. It gets old after a while. I like to call it the spring go to willard and get skunked trip. I do know that this weather can slow the fish down. Good luck on your next trip.

TKB is right, this time of year at Willard is hit and miss. If you had enough time to fish the entire West dike you might find a spot where the Walleye are active but then you might get lucky the first spot you try. The guys that got there early on Saturday did good and at least one guy on the site posted a message of doing good Saturday evening. The more time you go the better your chances are of hitting it just right. Better luck next time. WH2

Killerbee,
I can second what you said about willard. Never caught a stupid eye out of there in decade + fishing there. But I keeping hearing about how great it is. I'd much rather go for the wipers and crappie and go to Utah lake for the much easier and larger walleyes there.
