I know of the road around the south and west side of Willard Bay but am not sure of where to get on it. At the S. marina?? Is it passable by car or do you need a truck? If you wanted to put the directions on the Utah Fishing Holes board that would be helpful too. Thanks.

Continue west on the road that leads from Smith and Edwards. It will lead to the Harold Crane waterfowl management area. That's the road that goes around Willard.
It's the same road that takes you to the south marina, but instead of turning north to go to the marina, continue going west.
The road is passable in a car, but you'll want to be careful. The last time I was out there, there was a honda accord driving around. They didn't seem to be having any problem.

To get to the back or west side of willard go west from Smith and Edwards just like you were going to the south marina. When you cross the railroad tracks keep going straight instead of turning right towards the south marina. Follow the road west until it turns right into the upland area. Shortly after entering the upland area take the first left. You should now be traveling west toward the Harold Crane waterfowl area. As long as you stay on the main road you shouldn't get lost. The road around the backside of willard is usually terrible. If you go beyond harold crane wma with all the recent storms itwill be muddy and I would not try it in anything but a truck. I hope this helps. Gshorthair

Hey Fish1On,
I know how you feel. I've been a shore fisherman all my life and have had more than a handful of rude boaters catch my lines, cast over them, throw huge wakes at me, etc. BUT, a person can't get discouraged, the world needs fine fisherman like yourself who ARE courteous. Even if you choose another hobby, there will always be the rude ones . . . a few years back my dad and I shot a trophy buck deer hunting and had a group of 6 guys come and actually try to to take it away from us, threatening to harm us if we didn't cooperate. My dad is a stubborn old guy and wouldn't go for that, although he shouldn't have, he pulled his gun on them and said, "you may get this deer, but at least one of you is going to get shot in the attempt." They decided to leave.
Thankfully, BFT is a great community where friendship and sportsmanship are very much valued.
Anyway, I just got a new boat and would be more than glad to take you out on willard anytime.

Thanks for the kind words and understanding.
I would be glad to fish with ya, but I have two boats myself and just feel like shore fishing from time to time. With the prices of gas... I may be doing more shore angling than I would like! LOL
