I plan to be on Strawberry at ice off and was thinking that we should have some kind of party then.
Who else plans to fish the Berry at ice off?
We could all meet for lunch someplace or do something like that. Who has a suggestion? DKS.

Depends on when ice off is. But I plan on being there - I didn't make it last year for ice off. So, I am hopeing to have my boat's refit finished and ready and tested at least once this year before hand(it's almost there and maybe I will get it out on this years maiden voyage this weekend).
Maybe we can hook up around lunch one day and you can let me take photos of your fish so I have something that makes it look like I didnt just spend a lot of time and money on a Strawberry float trip only to look at the scenery out there. A picture of me holding up your stringer of fish on location at Strawberry would be a lot more convincing to the folks at home than buying some trout at Smith's and passing it off as fresh caught. Who knows, maybe you could give me a tip or two on how to actually catch something there - besides a cold, a sunburn, or skeeters.
All kidding aside, I have been anticipating ice off all year as I have missed it a couple of times in a row now.
If someone were interested, perhaps we could car(or truck)pool or something - you know, for the "I'm kind of cheap" factor.

Sounds like you like to fish it when I do . My Biggest bow was just letting my jig sink to the bottom and just let it set there without moving at all . I think it was more about being at the right place at the right time too . I have missed it the last few years but hope to hit it just right this year .

As the time gets closer, we will make some hard plans.
I hope to spend several days camping across the road from the marina, to the West of it. That is if the snow is gone by then.
We will have to get Polo Kid to give us some tips on how to pull off a great party, like he has done on the ice.
More to come, Dale.

[cool]I'm definitely game for that. Maybe we should meet somewhere for lunch or whatever meal. During iceoff, is the fishing best at sunup, middle of day, late in the day, etc???

I will let you plan this one!!! But I could definitely help you with any odds and ends. I have exactly one week of school left for the summer, perfect time to let some ice melt from the berry. I would definitely be down for a ice off shin dig!!!

The way the weather is acting this year it might be September before it warms up. If by chance it does thaw before that I'd like to meet some of you guys up there.

I want to fish the Berry when there is enough open water to use my toon in. I will let everyone know when it gets closer. We will have to get together for a BBQ around noon on one of the days that I will be up there. I plan to be there for about 4 or 5 days when I go.
