My daughter and I decided to do a little fishing this after noon from about 4:30 to 7:00. We started with minnows but nothing. Talked to another guy as he arrived he said he had caught two bucket mouths and a whitie earlier in the day on a jig and wanted to try for some more, After he caught his second since arriving, we decided to switch to jigs, I caught our first fish within ten casts. My daughter caught the next two then I caught the last one about fifteen minutes before we left. As we were packing up the guy caught a decent sized walleye I would say about 18-19 inches. He ended up with four whites and the one eye, between my daughter and I we caught four whites. But she had plenty of other hits but no more hook ups. It was the best day fishing we have had this year.

Now that's fishing, cherish the times you spend with your children the memories you both will have in the future will all always be there. As most of us know fishing can not be measured by simply looking at one's creel. The true measure is in the time spent with loved ones or friends doing something we truly enjoy. If not for the experiences I had with my late grandfather as well as my father I would not have come to have known what fishing is all about. I hope to pass on those same experiences and love for the outdoors with my children. Good luck in your future outings with your daughter.
