GPS question

My better half & I were out poking around yard sales this morning & I ran across a Magellan GPS4000 a guy wanted $40.00 for. I've wanted one for some time, figured I couldn't go wrong for that price seein' as it had a case & instruction book with it. Does anyone know anything about Magellans? Was it worth the price? It works fine as far as I can see.
