YES THER IS SOME. AS I DROVE PAST THE LADDERS COMMING BACK FROM THE BASIN SUNDAY I SAW OPEN WATER. I FLIPPED THE CAR AROUND AND WENT OVER TO CHECK IT OUT. INFRONT OF THE LADDERS THERE IS ABOUT 200 YRS OF IT ENOUGH FOR ABOUT 20 OR SO TUBERS FOR YOU GUYS PLANNING THAT FLOAT TRIPP. NEXT WEEKEND. THE FISH ARE TIGHT TO THE ICE SHELF. SOME ARE ROLLING ON THE EDGE. ALSO TO THE NORTH ABOUT 1/4 MILE IS ANOUTHER GOOD SECION OF OPEN WATER. FISHED WITH REPALAS NO HITS.

That's great news. Open water at Strawberry can provide some great first-of-the-season fishing.
If anyone heads up there and has any success, please post your report and what you used to catch them.
I'll probably head up there soon, and if I do, I'll let everyone know how I did.
