Maintenance Reminder
#1
It had been 2 months since I had checked the air pressure in the boat trailer tires and sure enough one tire was 3 to 4 pounds low.

With all the temperature changes and the warmth of summer approaching I would recommend at least a quick air pressure check on tow vehicle and boat trailer - the worst it will do is reassure you that all is well. And at best increase your gas mileage and tire wear.

Another tip - make sure your have the tools along to change a flat on your boat trailer. Lug wretch, Cresent wretch to remove spare from holder, blocks, jack, etc. - I thought I had mine along till I checked and sure enough my tool bag had gotten legs.....

I was also doing some poking around and noticed a couple of screws in the bottom back transom under my inbroad. I found where they went and put them back - the boat gets bounced around more on the trailer than in the water - vibration is your enemy.

Take care and throw in the extras - they might seem like overhead but they sure can help out in a pinch...

Good reminder Lundman. A little PM goes a long ways in keeping your rig good to go.

Another little helpfull hint for those that don't know. If your taking your boat out for the first time of the season, Unplug your gas line from your outboard motor, depress the check valve and pump the primer bulb on the gas line. This will perge the old gas out of the line, that has been sitting in there all winter. Thus giving you fresh, un varnished gas, when you start the engine. Most of us have allready been out, but It is one of the small things to help start your engine after a long winter!
