[#505000]The weather was so nice the other day I made plans to end my catfish drought today after work. I was dismayed when I saw the weather report last night that told me another storm was rolling in and it looked like it was going to mess up my plans to catch a catfish yet again [mad].[/#505000]

[#505000]When I got home from work the skys were looking gray and it looked as if I as going to have to call the trip off. I though about it a little more and decided to go anyway. I won't let much stand in the way of any opportunity to fish. [sly][/#505000]

[#505000]I took my new and improved homemade rotten steak stinkbait and drove out to Lincoln Beach. I was happy to see I had the whole place to myself (it was actually kinda creepy [
]). I was also encouraged by the fact the entire carp population of Utah Lake was rolling on the shoreline. [/#505000]

[#505000]The lake was really really rough so I fished the boat launch where it was relativly calm. It was sprinkling, windy, and a little chilly. I wasn't terribly optimistic about my chances to hook up a catfish. [crazy][/#505000]

[#505000]I tossed both my poles in the water and set up my chair. About 10 minutes after I arrived I got a good hit and started to bring in a sizeable carp. Realizing he was about to become bait he managed to break a poorly tied knot on my leader and got away (I hope I never find that guy who tied that crappy knot!!) . I got a few more hits, that I was unable to seal the deal on, and then I finally hooked into a decent sized Channel Cat.[/#505000]

[#505000]The cat was 21 1/2 inches (A slot catt [
]) and went for my rotten steak. By this time the weather had started to really turn sour, I was cold, soaking wet, and the action had died down. I called it a day and Mr. Catfish came home with me to be dinner.[/#505000]
