Disease Found At State Fish Hatchery
#1
Was catching up on my current events and ran across this on the ABC 4 news site.

Quote:(ABC 4 News)-- Wildlife officials have shut down fish stocking operations at the state fish hatchery in Springville, after cases of Whirling Disease were found in some of the trout.

The disease was found during a recent inspection of the facility. The hatchery is now considered at risk, because the Rainbow Trout there originated from the Provo River and Hobble Creek.

Fish stocking has ceased at the facility, while emergency response teams evaluate the infection and decide how to take care of the problem.

I wish I was smart enought to come up with something that would wipe out whirling disease. Thanks for the links Craig.

Bleach does wonders. Clean your boat, waders, and other equipment after you've been fishing/boating.
