Fishing has been a wet hobby

[#0000ff]The rain kept many fishing boats at the dock this week, but on days they could go out anglers did catch fish.
Anglers going out of Dolphin Dock Inc. made some pretty good catches this week.
"A 191 pound hammerhead shark was pulled in this last week" .
They also caught some nice yellowfin tuna that weighed in the 100-pound plus range. Catches have included a lot of shark, a lot of grouper, vermilion snapper, dorado, amberjack and a few kingfish.
Offshore Adventures said that even though red snapper season is closed the tuna, both yellowfin and blackfin, are biting on the 12-hour trips.
There are still plenty shark and some ling. There are a few kingfish biting on the rocks.
Anglers going out of Fisherman’s Wharf have been catching Atlantic sharpnose shark, blackfin tuna and amberjack.
They have also caught an occasional kingfish.
Woody’s Sports Center reports that between storms anglers have been going over to the north jetty and returning with some nice black drum.
Anglers on the south jetty have hooked "quite a few bull reds," and some large gafftop that weighed in the four to five pound range.
One south jetty angler caught a large black drum that was about 40-inches long and weighed about 40 or 45 pounds.
Anglers going out of Deep Sea Headquarters caught amberjack, red snapper, a few blackfin tuna, vermilion snapper and barracuda.
One lucky fisherman landed a shark that tipped the scales at 90 pounds

These gals, from left Shirley Whiteside, Sandra Fudge, Sharon Keehlisen and Mary Jane Shanklin, went out with Water World Charters and came back to the dock at Woody's Sports Center with a great catch of red snapper. Incidentally, Keehlisen landed the biggest snapper in the stringer. [#ff0080]Between squalls[/#ff0080]

[#ff0080][#0000ff] Clark Miles, left, and Keith McMullin, both of Port Aransas, went fishing during a break in the weather and found fishing great. The two left Woody's Sports Center at noon and were back by 3 p.m. with two limits of redfish. They say they released one red that was almost 27 inches long. They were fishing in the East Flats when a school of redfish showed up. They said the fresh water from the rain is really flooding out of Island Moorings and Flato's Cut but it's not affecting the fishing in Corpus Christi Bay[#ff0080].[/#ff0080][/#0000ff][/#ff0080]
