Henrys Lake
#1
The ice broke up on Henrys Lake this week and the cutts and hybrids are still running into the Hatchery. The Fish and Game have started their gill net program to get the estimated population of the lake. They are reporting good numbers of one and two year old cutts with a lot of large 3 and 4 year olds near the spawning areas. The hybrids running into the Hatchery this spring has been very large males. The sterile females do not run with the cutts and stay out in the lake - gaining weight.

Right now it looks to be a great year. The quota of eggs have already been met and they are still spawning out the cutts as they keep coming into the ladder.

I plan on running up there this weekend to check on the spawning and the gill netting. Then I will probably fish Island Park Reservoir on my way home.

If you can stand the October weather - fishing is usually a lot better in October than September.

Good Luck
