Those environmentalists have just been suckered in by the carp which still ranges in the thousands... what were they thinking? They still need to remove tons of carp which damages the plants and leave a muddy silt in the lake.
Also I thought they were going to put them in Mona Reservior?

I don't know anything about Mona, and I think we should have a carp hunt here in the near future.

Last week when I was at Lincoln Beach I was approached by a couple of young employees working for the UDWR. They weighed the walleye I had just caught, asked me if I'd had any other fishing success, and asked me if I supported the planting of June Suckers in Utah Lake.
Before I answered, I asked them three questions: 1) Would the June Sucker planting do anything to hinder sport fishing on the Lake? 2) Would Utah Lake qualify for federal money if June Suckers were planted? 3) Would they be doing anything to control carp populations as a measure to ensure the survival of the planted June Sucker?
They responded as follows: 1) No. 2) Possibly and probably yes. 3) Yes; they're in the process. The answers I received were all wonderful in my opinion.
You need to know that as I was receiving answers to my questions, countless pairs of carp were splashing loudly on the shorelines, which caused our conversation to focus mainly on carp. The two young employees said that they thought the UDWR had contacted some commercial fishers to possibly begin to remove as many carp as possible with nets. We'll see I guess.
We commented that bow fishers could have had a field day at Lincoln on that particular afternoon, because there were big carp uglies flopping around everywhere near the shoreline with half their bodies out of the water. Both workers said that we were welcome to catch them, snag them, whatever, and dump their carcasses in the dumpsters in the marina if we would like to help out.
We passed, because we were hoping for another walleye, but it's good to know that the UDWR feels the same as many of us anglers do about the ubiquitous carp at UL.

they have had commercial fisherman out there for quite some time now for carp. still not putting a dent in the carp population. those things are amazing to say the least. i saw them come in one day with a semi fulls worth of carp. had alot of nice walleye in there net too its a double edged sword that way.
