FYI. I have been at Pelican Lake every day this week. The largemouth are in shallow and on beds all over the lake. The bluegill just showed up in good numbers today on the north side. I found large schools of cruisers in shallow and they can be a little tough to catch. I did find huge hens on beds on the mid lake reed islands. It will just get better from here as the gills settle in. Beautiful sunny calm conditions. Better late than never. Go get em.....

Great report, Mr. Kayote. I've been waiting for news on this little gem in the Basin, because me likes Pelican.
I have a few questions for you: What's the water level like out there? Has Pelican benefitted from the plentiful moisture that Utah has received this year? Is the water level higher this year than in the past several drought years?
Last fall when I was there in mid October, I couldn't believe how low it was. It seems like I had to paddle my 14' aluminum boat out from the high-and-dry concrete boat ramp for nearly 100 yards before it was deep enough for me to even drop the motor.
I know it begins filling from piped-in water in November, I believe, but beyond that water, has it filled significantly from rain, snow, runoff, etc.? It would be nice to think that it may stay a little fuller this year throughout the summer and even into the fall.
