Fishing is good. Crappie fishing is the best of this year. The wind has caused some problems for a few days this week. Crappie are hitting jigs and minnow in 6' to 12' of water around wood. Mepps are also catching a the crappie that are suspended around the brush. Largemouth are shallow and are hitting spinnerbaits and other shallow baits. Mister/Twister DARTs fished on 8# line had been a very good choice. Light colors are working best. Smallmouth are also hitting well along the gravel banks in the larger bays. Bluegill are good on most live bait. Whitebass are fair. They are chasing shad in the bays, but are scattered over large areas in the bays. The water temps are in the mid 50's and fishing should remain good for some weeks yet.

TIP: The baits that worked this spring, might not work as well as fall baits.

BITS AND PIECES: I hope our young people will not have to see war.

I am glad to see that you did not get blown away by that wind. I see some nasty winds went to the north and south of you.

how was your deer season down your way?
