All agencies report catches of kingfish, which is unusual this time of year.
"Fishing was good all week," according to Deep Sea Headquarters.
On an overnight trip aboard the Pelican with Capt. John Brennan, the fishermen caught 45 yellowfin tuna, all in the 80- to 100-pound range. They also landed some nice dorado and several blackfin tuna on the outing.
The trip to state waters resulted in catches of redfish, black drum, kingfish and shark as well as red snapper.
On all the other regular eight-hour trips during the week, anglers came back with limits of kingfish, Spanish mackerel, triggerfish and spadefish.
Woody’s Sports Center saids that fishing on the north jetty had been great.
After fishing there for three days over the weekend, "everyone we saw and talked to over there had a good time and caught good fish."
Anglers were catching keeper redfish, a few oversized reds, three and four pound drum and limits of sheepshead as well as a few trout.
"Believe it or not, we’ve had some wonderful catches of kingfish this week," said Fisherman’s Wharf.
A lot of nice kingfish, some pretty fair sized, came back from a nine-hour trip on the Wharf Cat.
Anglers also have been catching vermilion and lane snapper as well as shark.
Offshore Adventures said when the boat goes out, it’s been returning with lots and lots of tuna.
Kingfish are still biting around the rocks and there have been some "good-sized amberjack being caught. As well as plenty of shark, vermilion and lane snapper.
Dolphin Dock Inc. said the tuna are showing up again and "that’s a good sign."
In addition to tuna, anglers are catching big amberjack, many in the 40-pound range. "There have been a lot of nice, big ones," a lucky angler hooked and landed a 101-pound sandbar shark.
People are still catching kingfish.
