Bear Lake report

Didn't get out on the boat! [][] Winds came up in the afternoon and got scared. Plus it is a "SKI" boat and still not rigged for fishing.

Fished off the North Breakwater rocks at the marina and had a blast watching my kid and his friends toy with the suckers, carp, and whitefish. They were out in about 5' of water and we were using a nightcrawler and bobber. 22 suckers, 6 carp, 1 cutthroat, and 5 whites between all of my group. I had 3 kids last weekend and only my son this weekend. The wife even hooked into a few to share in the fun. As for me... I have improved on my baiting and releasing skills! LOL

All in all lot's of fun for the family and friends. I hope to get out and catch some of "Dads" fish Wednesday or Thursday!

Looks like a lot of fun! I'll bet your family had a great time. Did you guys try using any of the sucker meat for bait?

From the looks of it, you and the kids had a great day. I would sure like to get some of those suckers for bait, any chance we could work something out? I don't suppose you threw any of those suckers in the freezer, did you?

All were released, but they are very easy to catch if you need bait. I prefer to use cisco as bait up at bear lake when jigging for trout but as for the rest of the bodies of water I fish I am artificial only or worms as a sweetener.
