Big Week at Henry’s

This week has been a hot week for big fish on Henry’s. There has been 11 fish over 10 pounds caught this week. Bill caught and released on Monday 1 fish over 10 pounds. On Tuesday and Wednesday with a client caught and released 2 fish 14 pounds and 2 fish 12 pounds. He said that on Wednesday out in the middle caught and broke off one pushing 20 pounds. The total numbers of fish being caught are still up and doing well.

Best places to fly fish are Duck Creek, County Boat dock and Stayley Springs. The best flies are the Mity Mouse, Light Olive Crystal, California and the Hot Chocolate. Use the black and brown flies in the morning and then later in the morning and early afternoon switch to the greens. Bill has a new fly out that has been picking up fish. It’s hot of the press and so hot I haven’t even seen it. He told me about it today. We will have some in the shop soon. Stay tuned for the rest of the story as they sayJ

The damsels are starting to move a little and we are seeing more and more activity. The hotter days should bring this hatch around nicely. With the huge fish being caught look for the damsel hatch this year to be funnnnn.!!

Both Bill and I believe the record fish is in Henry’s this year. The big fish being caught are just simply huge and a lot of them. Most people this year have been very pleased with the Lake.

Sheridan Lake

Sheridan Lake continues to fish well. As the weather warmed up the fish were a little slow to hit the fly. We still are averaging 20 to 30 fish days. The bigger fish have hidden more this week. The average right now being caught is about 3 to 4 pounds. The big ones have gone deep and we are seeing fewer being caught. We are seeing the damsels start to move so look for the big ones to get more active. We have seen some Callibaetis and Midge hatches. We are picking up some fish on top as well as down deep.
The hot flies are the Purple Showgirl and the Kolob. We have been catching some with the Electric Black, BH Electric Black, Midge patterns and blood worm patterns. With the damsels starting to move we have been picking up fish on the Lt. Olive, and AH patterns.

If any questions give us a call or email. Just wanted to give everyone an update. It's been hot. I didn't have time for picture loading this time but will have some next time.

No pictures. I haven't been able to catch up to Bill. He came back from guiding in wednesday night and then off playing grand dad on thursday. We passed each other on the road. I'm hoping to catch up to him soon and get the pictures posted.
Both Lakes have just been fun this year.

I hope it's a nice program. He was great to fish with for two days and had a great time. The program will cover both Henry's Lake and Sheridan Lake. Both the lakes are fishing very well. Sheridan is not as tempermental as Henry's. Sometimes Henry's can kick your butt as tempetures, wind and such play a bigger part on Henry's. So far it doesn't have as dramatic impact on Sheridan. Although on Sheridan the water has warmed and the fish have gone deeper and into the weeds. Little tougher fishing than it was earlier but still fishing very well. Days of 25 fish per day and above are common.
