Lk Mead - Father in Law bought a boat - Help
#1
Hello:

Thanks for any help you might provide. My FIL bough a runabout & wants me to take him fishing. I am a small stream (that's the only kind around here!) trout fisherman mostly. I have caught stripers with cut anchovies off the tires at LkMead Marina. We will probably put in at Hemingway so he doesn't have to walk up any tall hills and head over to the Lk Mead Marina corner of the lake. Can we find fish in the coves around Las Vegas wash? Should we go North past the water intake & hit the coves. Fishing in the shallows appeals to me but if there are no fish there we could just fish the tires.

Thanks
Vince S.

We caught some fish! Put in at Hemingway, motored past Saddle Cove Island (how can an island be a cove?), past the pump thing anyway. Saw jumping fish in a cove back there & caught a stripper right off the bat. Chummed a bit with anchovies & Sue caught a 2lbish catfish. We motored across to a shallow cove & observed a fingerling bass boil - is that possible? Small fish black vert fin stripes. Well Sue caught a 5" bluegill. The wench! Mom in Law had to pee so we went to the Lake Mead Marina. A kid yanked a carp out from the edge of the dock, then got yelled at. I tried that the last time I was there - I just got yelled at! That is tougher than it looks. Tied off the tires, chummed anchovie parts, caught healthy smallish stripers. I hooked (and landed) a big cat. One of the rare- 1st, biggest, most fish times when fishing with the split tail. ( She's has the fish sense). There ya go! Fish report 6/26/oughtfive
