AUSTIN, TX— Though it’s only three years old, a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) water and boater safety program reaches more than 10,000 children per year. The Junior Boater program was started for kids younger than 12 years of age in an effort to reach those who aren’t old enough to be eligible for state Boater Safety certification.
