Not absolutely stellar fishing but great from a pontoon. Fished Willard Saturday and it was fast and furious before the sun rose. Boiling along the shore lines out from the feed lot proved to be fun with 9 wipers by 9:30-10 am then it went dead for wipers, but the channel cats played. 10 or so channel cats all day, a 13 inch perch, and 9 wipers. All wipers but 2 were released. Biggest was 23+ and smallest was 12 inches. I kept smaller fish for a fish fry for some mates this weekend.
Things slowed alot after 10 am but I guess there was a big boil going on after 10 just out from the south inlet about 400 yards. I saw the boats out there but assumed they were having similar luck as me. Go figure.
I have the bug, I am going again this weekend. Look for the Pontoon bound mad man chasing the wipers.

Yea...willard rocks!!! starten to really love that place! best part is, is that you dont have to fish right in the rocks like we used too...those wipers are all over the place...so when the skiers are cruisen the shore to catch the calm water you can zip out in the middle and still find them!...How were the bugs?? seems even they are calmen down a bit!

I wasn't bugged at all. Bugs were close to non-existant. Wind kept them down I think.

Hey Craig, What day are you heading up? I should have some time off this weekend. I've got very soft plans to meet up with a friend at Starvation, but if that falls through I was thinking about Willard, Pineview, or Mantua from the tube. I've never been able to catch a wiper or a tiger, but my belly could sure handle a big sack of gills.

[cool]Craig, congrats on a nice morning at Willard. Glad you got into another fat 23 incher like the bugger that spit your hook in front of us at the tourney![mad] One of these days soon I'll have to get some cash for gas together and see if you wanna take your boat out there, eh? Good luck out there this weekend.
