sans-serif"][size 2]—[/size][/font]The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced last week that it has lifted the no-contact advisory which instructed people to not come into contact with the water on Big Creek in Polk City. The DNR had issued the advisory after finding a toxin associated with blue-green algae.
After recent tests, though, DNR officials say water samples from Big Creek came back negative for the toxin or with very low positive results.
As a result, fishermen, boaters and swimmers can now resume normal activities on Big Creek
