No-Contact Advisory Lifted On Iowa Waterway
#1
POLK CITY, IA—The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced last week that it has lifted the no-contact advisory which instructed people to not come into contact with the water on Big Creek in Polk City. The DNR had issued the advisory after finding a toxin associated with blue-green algae.

After recent tests, though, DNR officials say water samples from Big Creek came back negative for the toxin or with very low positive results.

As a result, fishermen, boaters and swimmers can now resume normal activities on Big Creek
