Pineview and the Southfork 8/1
#1
Headed up to Pineview with the tubes on Monday. Started off a bit slow, but once we found where the smallies were holding we couldn't keep them off. We were using a 4 inch tube jig in either pumpkin seed or smoke with red sparkle fished weedless with a 1/8 ounch split shot. We located the fish in pretty deep cover. We ended up landing between 30-40 fish, and had another 20 or so on. Biggest was 16 inches, but the avergace was about 12 inches. A lot of fun. Did have one tiger chase in a spinner bait.
After all the PWC started to tear up the water we decided to check out the South Fork. It was decent fishing. We ended up catching 12 between us in about 2 hours. They were all browns except for one, which was a Tiger trout. Never caught a tiger out of the South fork before. I know they planted some in Causey last year so it must have been from there. The biggest we caught was 17 inches, and we caught a few that were about 6 inches. They were all caught using rapalas in rainbow and brown trout patterns. All in all a very fun day!
