Mantua report 8-6
#1
Took the johnboat and electric motor up to Mantua today with the 5 year old son. Stoped at Hooked on the way for 4 doz crawlers and a couple of those green hand tied jigs.
Got on the water in late morning (11:30) and caught fish right up till we took lunch at 2:30. After lunch the fish were deeper, out past the weeds in 12' or so of water.
My son used a james jig below a slip bobber with a piece of worm and caught about 80 bluegill to 7", 20 perch to 9" and 4 largemouth bass to 11".
I had simular success with a gold bladeand green curly tail jig spinnerbait. 1/16 oz. I caught more perch and bass and a few really big bluegill by waiting for the rig to get to the bottom before retreiving very slow.

Awsome!!![Smile]
I like to here that the kids catch lots of fish.

Mantua is the place to take a kid fishing, lots of bluegill just waiting to get on a hook.
