Fished Upper Bells Canyon Resevoir and caught 10 cuts from 6-14". I caught 1 little one on a Krocodile and the rest on flies. Used a renegade and black wooly bugger. Man thats quite a hike (4.5 miles and 4400 feet.) It's hard to imagine people hiking up there in 1938 to build a resevoir by sticking granite block together with morter.

This is a site for fishermen - NOT HIKERS. GO AWAY!!
just kidding. That hike IS a pain in the butt. I tried it two years ago. We lost the trail in the snow, and found a tiny pond a little west of the lake we were trying for. I only found out last week that the little pond we found was not Upper Bells Reservoir.
I commend you for hiking. I used to go hiking quite a lot before I learned about fishing. Since then, I rarely go hiking. Fishing is a lot less work!

I tried to find the lake last year but lost the trail also. This year I took my GPS and it led me right to it.
