Spring Lake
#1
Took a little drive over to Spring Lake yesterday. I was very surprised to see it TEEMING with green sunfish!!! They were everywhere! There was hundreds and hundreds of baby green sunfish everywhere. There were also a few catchable sized ones, dozens of baby largemouth bass, and a few 10-12 inch largemouth all cruising around in and out of the algae (which is very thick in most places). I also saw 1 carp, about 16 inches long, that had a "possee" of green sunfish following it around like it was their leader or something! So, I guess although they have not been stocking it with trout or catfish, there are plenty of holdovers that survived when it was drained about a year ago or so.

Supposedly it's scheduled to be dredged this fall. Might have to go get out the fly rod or the tube jigs and thin out those green sunfish!

they are going to dredged it agian they just did this spring when the kids broke the gate and let all the water out as well as most the fish down spring creek that leads to utah lake. Thats kinda why there have been so many people catching trout out of utah lake is what i belive. my Dads neighbor has been catching some nice dads and cats out of spring creek. The thing about spring creek though is that is all in private property!!
