ATHENS, TX—NAFC Fishing Advisory Council member Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Michigan, was fishing Texas’ Lake Lewisville during the first day of the Bassmaster Elite 50 tournament earlier this month when he caught a lake record largemouth bass. The 11-pound, 13-ounce bass is also the biggest fish VanDam has ever caught in competition.
