My son and I went to Jordanelle this morning and fished from daylight untill about 3:00 pm. We tried about every thing we had and just couldn't get any smallmouths untill I gave up and started fishing for perch to take home. After I had caught a dozen or more my son broke down and decided to help me catch enough bigger ones to make a meal, since I had only kept a couple. While fishing for perch with worms we did catch a few smallmouth. The largest was about 2#'s.

Not surprising nkunz. Bass fishing should be good the 14th through the 18th. The bass are hanging around their primary food source ....... the perch. Try sweeting your offerings with perch meat. Where were you fishing at?

How near? Thats some pretty deep water by the dam. You must have been chucking towards the shore. Or were you trolling for trout?
