Grandad and Nephew at Jordanelle on 09 04 05
#1
Fished Jordanelle on Sunday with my nephew and his grandad. My nephew is in the army stationed in Texas and was up for a visit. We were on Jordanelle from 6:45 a.m. to noon and caught a lot of perch up in the canyons using smoke-colored twisters on 1/16 oz jig heads in 20 feet of water casting to the bank and getting bit on the drop. Grandad caught a nice smallie on a twister, too, and my nephew netted it just as the hook came out! Caught a few other smallies on soft rapalas that we fished very slow and parallel to the bank in about 25 feet of water. Had to change lures three times because the tails were bitten off. We Had a great time.
Thanks go to Chumbucket and Garbageman for their advice. Hope to hit the Berry this weekend if the weather cooperates.

Tight Lines and no snags.

[red]Sure sounds like a blast. I like to do a little "boat camping" for a few days there, never seem to tire of it. I haven't tried soft Rapalas, sounds like you were doing something between a jig and slooow troll with them?[/red]

Hi, Never. Good to hear from you. Just poked around at the edge of the brush. Would hold position with the trolling motor when we had action and when it played out we'd move on. The soft rapalas were a gift from my son. I'd never tried them either and since the senkos were not getting a lot of action I decided to try a rapala. Had a lot of fun.

tight lines without snags to you.

[red]Hey Hey! I just noticed that you are still a "worm". Welcome to BFT! Lotz of great info here, and some fun get togethers. You will have to pick up some stickers or a hat or such, maybe see ya on the water sometime. [/red]
