Largemouth Bass Virus Found In Iowa Lake
#1
MORAVIA, IA—The presence of largemouth bass virus (LMBV) was confirmed in Iowa's Lake Sugema last week by officials with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Mark Flammang, fisheries management biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), was investigating a report of dead and dying fish in early August when he began to suspect LMBV.

In other Iowa news, the Iowa DNR has confirmed that two zebra mussels have been found in Clear Lake. Further investigation of the area by the DNR revealed no additional mussels.
