Casting Rods
#1
I recently acquired an AmbasSadeur 6501 baitcasting reel. I used to borrow one from my uncle when I went steelhead fishing and loved it. Then I started my College education and haven't been up in a few years. Now getting close to finishing and looking forward to increased opportunities to go back up I have started to try and pick up my own gear. My question is what rod do you guys recommend to go with this reel. It seems like my uncles was a Cabelas Pro Guide IM6 or something like that and about 7 ft. long. Looked at these and the price range seems good for me. Is there anything else out there comparable in price you guys like better? I am hoping to get it in a two piece model because it goes better in a car that way, but are there any advantages to a one piece?

My hope is that it can double for catfishing (my newfound love) and steelhead fishing.

If you plan on doing steelhead with it, you can get a perfect steelhead rod in a two piece at a great price.

Lamiglass makes an 8 ft and an 8 ft 6 inch two piece steelhead rod that will get you great power, long casts, and at a very nice price.
They run about $60.00 - $65.00
I know smith and edwards and the riverdale sportsmans bolth stock these rods.

You would have to go check them out to see if you like them.
