Canyon Lake & Upper Guadalupe River Guide Report
#1
Canyon Lake: Water clear; 82 degrees; 908':

Largemouth are fair to good at first light tight to stumps and laydowns in 4'- 8' using watermelon JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com), wacky rigged 4" Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps
(www.rat-l-trap.com) worked parallel to breaklines. Upriver, the most activity is at first light. Bass are holding very tight to brushpiles where Whacky Sticks,
dead-sticking plastic jerkbaits and Texas rigged 4" Ring Worms produce best until mid-morning when the baitfish and bass pull out into deeper water to suspend during the heat of the day.

Smallmouth are slow to fair over rock piles in 20'-35' on Smokin' Green Devils Tongues and camo 4" JDC Drop Shot worms on drop shot rigs.
