Fished Stawberry today and had a blast. Caugh over 20 huge cuts and one bow. All were on white buzits from HFT tipped with worm and smelly jelly. Fish were still a little deeper than I thought. I didn't have a finder, but talked to a few boats and we were around 30 feet. Sometimes they would hit when the jig was at the bottom, sometimes they would hit when reeling in. It was funny, there were a few boats and a few pontoons around us, and all day someone had a fish on. It is such a great time to fish. Also, absolutely no wind until about 4:30. It was awesome. Although we ran our battery dead again in a drift boat and had to paddle through the wind to make it back to the dock. But it was worth it. All I can say is that I have never experienced such great fishing before. Fish were fighting hard too. White is the color right now.

I also hit the Berry this evening. We trolled rapalas. Right on top, no weight just long lining rapalas. Fish were all over the water column on my fish finder. We caught 15 fish apiece and only fished fron 4:30 to 7:00pm. All fish were relesed to fight another day. Biggest fish was 21 1/2 inches, all cutts today.

Great report. Good to hear the catching was great for you. Strawberry can be excellent this time. What area did you fish? Did you get a surface temperature?

Surface temp in the evenin was 49 to 50. WE fished the east portal area.

We fished East Portal as well. (thanks MGB for the tip) After last friday, I couldn't resist hitting the same area. We launched from the main marina and made our way over there, I was actually in a drift boat this time. Hit a few sweet spots before the bay as well. We did a lot of drifting. Going back to the boat ramp, (before our battery died) we were flying and my buddy caught one on a huge rapala, and I caught one on a buzit. It was amazing when they hit when we were going that fast. Best day every. Going to try and talk the boss in a nother day off next week.
