Just before we left to New Orleans from the Vermilion Parish, I got to head out for some GAR fishin'...then, reality hit.
Where the Levee broke, they had no notice. Complete and total devistation.
Here are some shots I have taken.

thanks for sharing.
i caught a few gar back in my teens when i lived in TN. Nasty fish...always scared the crap outta me when i saw one on the line.[shocked]
Used to fish the cumberland river near clarksville, TN and would hang into a gar on occasion during the shovelbill catfish runs.

Thanks for the report, I'm glad you were able to get a little fishing in. I would like to take a moment to thank you and all the guys that serve with you for helping out in Louisiana, you guys really made the difference in the worst natural disastrous in US history.

I just hope they keep you away from guns and sharp objects. Why are you wrestling seven foot gators?

Clif, it appears you are holding that gar's mouth closed with a pair of pliers. I don't blame you -- I saw some of those while spending some time in Louisiana and Mississippi, and those are some ferocious looking fish. They make a tiger muskie almost look like a bass in comparison. Appreciate the fine work you are doing down there for those who have lost everything.
