The fish are tasting better !
#1
Is it me or is this cooler weather making the fish taste better ?
A overnight scouting trip to the dearcamp area had me fishing for my dinner , and cooking over a campfire .
Now i could have bagged a squirlle or a grouse , maybe a bird or two but fishing time has been limited the last few months , open water will soon be a rarety , fishing was the best choise to make for this trip . The deer runs i like to start with are close to streams and rivers , deer gotta drink , once the shooting begins on tuesday they are going to get thirsty from all that moving around they will be doing .
I landed a couple pearch , some gills and a large crappie , cleaned and fried in some bear batter and hot butter on an iron skillet , yummy ,yum, yum !
Now it could be that it was the outdoor expearance that made the fish taste better , you know , camping in the cool clean air , a campfire that you started , fish that you cought . You relying on yourself in the great outdoors , that could be the reason for the fish tasting better , but i don't think thats the only reason .
The fishflesh seems a little firmer , tastes a little sweeter and made me wish i fished a little longer than I did that evening .
Was it the fish or just being outdoors ?
