While it may seem odd that I'm posting this since this is usually BLM's job, he has tasked me to do so. I'm sure your asking yourselves why? Well, the simple truth is BLM was right and I was WRONG. Yes dear readers he was right and I was WRONG. I know you can't believe these simple facts; 1st that I would ever be wrong about anything. Second that BLM would be correct on anything. Fear not though, there are firsts in all our lives and it was only a matter of time before some unfortunate twist of fate such as this reared it's ugly head.
To the report. We left the marina at sunup and a balmy 1 degree. Nope didn't miss a digit, 1 degree. (dress warm my salsa friends) Checked out the Rockpile and nothing was showing on SONAR. Headed out to some super classified BLM fishing spot. (actually, we saw fish on the finder, achored and fished) Ended up with around 15 - 20 fish, 5 or 6 Macks biggest were 2 around 11 pounds and 8 or 10 Cutts biggest was about 5 pounds.
I forgot the camera in the truck so no pictures. Since the captain is never wrong, it's my fault. Even though it's not my truck, boat or camera it's my fault. But, that's not the thing I was wrong about.
You see, for years now BLM has been trying to talk me into grafite rods for jigging. Nagging would be a better term, but I don't want to offend. I have always done well with my old jigging sticks and I fear change. To make a very long story short I went out and bought a couple of mid end grafite jigging rods. I have been converted, he was right and good god almighty I see the light!
PS. If I didn't outfish him today I at least kept close to even. And that my friends has never happened on the Bear before. (I think I outfished him but that will be our little secret)
