Strawberry Marina 12-17
#1
Fished West of the marina on Saturday. Ice was about 5-6 inches thick so it made for easy drilling. Parking lot was a challenge as you had to park in an unplowed area and there were some soft spots. 4WD was pretty much necessary although I did see a Cadillac with chains on chewing his way thru.
Talked to one of the Phillips boys about plowing and he said the ranger district won't allow him to charge anything for parking so he could not justify the fuel expense to plow it for the ice fishermen. He said he was confident something could be worked out in the near future.
Fishing was very good from about dusk to about 10:30. We left about noon. Most of the fish we caught were big and fat. I landed 2 over 23". Every fish was put back to be caught another day. Used paddle bugs, tube jigs, and rat finkies tipped with either minnows or wax worms.
Had a great time, hope to make it back up on Friday.

Sounds like a great time! We're going to head that way before the week is out. Thanks for the information, especially about the parking (?) lot!
