Ice reports have not been good in the central Michigan area for the last week .
Small lakes in the area have shown the beginning of a new freese over yesterday but remain unsafe . Ice covers the lakes with very few open spots after only two days of below freesing temps .

[black]In southeast Michigan the ice is receding from the shore, its looking like that nasty six-letter “spring” around here. [/black]

[black]I was as you know on the ice 4 days before Christmas but the rains and worm weather set in opening up the lake about 3 feet from shore. So if it turns back to frigid weather today it will be two weeks before we will be back on the ice down here.[/black]
